The beauty of this handcrafted items is that, although made to exacting standards, no two lather bowls are precisely the same. They measure approximately 4 1/2" wide and 1 1/4" deep and will appear similar to the one that is pictured.

I am very satisfied with the bowl. Even though I have never had a real lather bowl before, I am sure that the large ridges in the bottom are more effective than the small ridges I see in the sides and bottom of other models. I let the bowl float in hot water to keep the lather warm because the copper is such a good conductor of heat. It is also nice to know that it won't be damaged if it drops. i used to manufacture musical instruments and made some parts that were similar in their forming methods to how the bowl is made.
